Books, Books, Books

So, can we please first discuss the immense desire I have for sunshine, suntans, suntan lotion, and all things not related to the really cold weather currently inhabiting my turf. This love of sunshine is what made me post the happy picture from the end of summer a time when people went barefoot and wore shorts and tanks and watched movies on the lawn, if I can't actually be warm at least I can remember warmer things. Ok, now that I've repeated my despise of cold weather I guess I should move on to other things. First things first, I finished The Lovely Bones and it was really good. The book turned out nothing like what I had really expected and definitely exceeded my ideas. I thought the book was going to be really sad and while it had its sad moments for the most part it was just a really great story. I am already marking the day the movie comes out in my agenda, it's going to be a must-see for me. I have a habit of reading books that have movies being made about them. For example, I read The Time Traveler's Wife due to the previews I saw for the movie, unfortunately I started reading too late and am now stuck waiting for the movie to come out on DVD so I can watch it. The Time Traveler's Wife was probably my favorite book from last year. The book followed a complicated relationship that transcended space and time in a way that was really interesting. Following the same pattern I am about to start reading Dear John which has a film coming out soon. My theory is if the book is good enough for someone who read it to think "I should make a movie out of this" than its good enough for me to read. Other than reading my day today consisted of a workout followed by a fun little trip to the doctor's office to get rid of my cough (which he said was bronchitis) and then after that not a whole lot else worth noting. I know my life is just so riveting, ha, but I have to admit I love every minute of it. Well, actually I didn't totally love sitting in the waiting room because it just stresses me out, people coughing and snorting their noses, it just seems like a high quantity of germs should be present so if you aren't sick you soon will be. My little bit of happy today goes to the slick, shiny coat of almost grayish nail polish on my fingers. Something about painted nails just makes me so extremely happy that I was born a girl. I love all things girly and nail polish is towards the top of girly things I love. Sweet dreams bloggy friends.

Christmas Break

So Christmas break is quickly ending and as much as I can't wait to see my friends back in Fayetteville I am loving every second of my time back home. This break has just been a super laid back time with lots of family stuff and catching up with old friends. Probably one of my favorite parts of the break has just been all the down time I've spent pretty much just bummin. Nothing makes for a better winter day than a good work-out followed by watching whichever tv show marathon is on or reading a good book. I've managed to read more books in the past two weeks than I did in the entire last semester. Speaking of which I began reading The Lovely Bones today and am really liking it so far, I am hoping to finish it before I go back to the craziness of spring semester and also before the movie comes out early this month. Don't worry I'll give you my full review of what I think of it once I finish. I feel like my blog posts are extremely random and tend to ramble but just hang with me and hopefully I'll get the hang of it before too long. So on that note onto another random topic....One of my goals for this year is to really be thankful and find joy and happiness in the little things in life so I'm going to try to end each post with one little thing that put a smile on my face that day. Today's little bit of happy has to go to clean pajamas that smell like the detergent my mom uses, the same one I use but can't ever get my clothes smelling as good as when my mom washes them. The picture I posted is one of me and Katie Schuett in our matching owl pjs (the same ones I'm wearing now) this picture is definitely another thing that makes me smile. Sweet dreams bloggy world!!
