Hanging on to Summertime

Today was a perfect first official Saturday back to school, well actually today was more of a hang on to summer Saturday. I started the day with some window shopping with B. Nash and Schuett and followed it up with some pool time with Meagan. I love laying out by the pool reading a magazine. I mean I just can't think of a better way to relax than to hang out by the pool and since recruitment I haven't really had a chance to catch much sun and felt like I was beginning to look like Casper. This morning while we were window shopping we stopped by ULTA. I had never been to one before but all my friends from Tulsa love the place and a new one just opened in Fayetteville so we decided we should definitely check it out. It was so cool, it had a ton of makeup and hair stuff. It had brands ranging from drug store stuff to department store brands. It was so neat to just walk around and see it all, and if you know me at all you know I am a straight up girly girl at heart and love all things related to makeup and hair. I definitely recommend stopping in there. So far today has been a perfect first "real" weekend back in Fay. Even with as great as today has been I am so pumped for next weekend and the first Hogs game of the season. I can't wait to tailgate and get to see my family. I just love Arkansas football. So to wrap it up my happy moment for today was getting to catch up with Meagan by the pool. I loved getting to hang out with her since we haven't been able to hang out much since recruitment. Happy Saturday Bloggy Friends!

Dear Summer Please, Please, Please Hurry. Love Katie

Dear Summer, I need your golden rays of happiness to fill my life as soon as possible please. I need my days to consist of snow cones and work and working out and hanging out with my Conway loves. Thanks, Katie.

So that's my plea with summer, I am currently on the slow trek to the finish line of my junior year. I can't believe this year is almost over, that's sooo sooo crazy. I still feel like this should be the end of my freshman year. I am two classes, two projects, and three tests away from the finish line. In all honesty I really can't complain I don't have more than one thing due on any given day and if it wasn't for the enormity of my internship project hanging over my head I really wouldn't feel overwhelmed at all. Right now my days are pretty much just constantly spent in a state of trying to finish school work or sleeping. I'm pumped because I am done with both of my Monday, Wednesday, Friday classes so the only thing on my agenda tomorrow is work. I'm hoping that with the morning off I'll be able to go to the baseball game tomorrow night if it isn't FREEZING, which is exactly what it was all day today, unbelievably cold. Well, I guess I should get off of here so I can get back to the land of productivity. Love ya lots bloggy friends, picture post coming as soon as I do something fun enough to warrant documentation.

Books, Books, Books

So, can we please first discuss the immense desire I have for sunshine, suntans, suntan lotion, and all things not related to the really cold weather currently inhabiting my turf. This love of sunshine is what made me post the happy picture from the end of summer a time when people went barefoot and wore shorts and tanks and watched movies on the lawn, if I can't actually be warm at least I can remember warmer things. Ok, now that I've repeated my despise of cold weather I guess I should move on to other things. First things first, I finished The Lovely Bones and it was really good. The book turned out nothing like what I had really expected and definitely exceeded my ideas. I thought the book was going to be really sad and while it had its sad moments for the most part it was just a really great story. I am already marking the day the movie comes out in my agenda, it's going to be a must-see for me. I have a habit of reading books that have movies being made about them. For example, I read The Time Traveler's Wife due to the previews I saw for the movie, unfortunately I started reading too late and am now stuck waiting for the movie to come out on DVD so I can watch it. The Time Traveler's Wife was probably my favorite book from last year. The book followed a complicated relationship that transcended space and time in a way that was really interesting. Following the same pattern I am about to start reading Dear John which has a film coming out soon. My theory is if the book is good enough for someone who read it to think "I should make a movie out of this" than its good enough for me to read. Other than reading my day today consisted of a workout followed by a fun little trip to the doctor's office to get rid of my cough (which he said was bronchitis) and then after that not a whole lot else worth noting. I know my life is just so riveting, ha, but I have to admit I love every minute of it. Well, actually I didn't totally love sitting in the waiting room because it just stresses me out, people coughing and snorting their noses, it just seems like a high quantity of germs should be present so if you aren't sick you soon will be. My little bit of happy today goes to the slick, shiny coat of almost grayish nail polish on my fingers. Something about painted nails just makes me so extremely happy that I was born a girl. I love all things girly and nail polish is towards the top of girly things I love. Sweet dreams bloggy friends.
